Sustainability at ERDINGER

Respect and
responsibility

Our sustainability and environmental policy is based on our company mission and vision.
Two hands hold sustainably produced hops for ERDINGER beer production.
It is founded on four pillars: sustainable corporate governance, the environment, the economy and social issues.
We regard compliance with laws and official requirements as the minimum standard that we want to meet. We pursue the following approaches in these areas in order to shape our company in a responsible and future-compatible manner.

Sustainable corporate governance

Integrating sustainability into our management system is the basis for our actions. As a brewery with strong regional roots, we are aware of our responsibility for people and the environment. ERDINGER produces top-quality, natural products. A healthy and protected natural environment ensures that we have the necessary conditions to guarantee our quality philosophy. Protecting natural resources is therefore an integral part of our corporate governance.

Environmental sustainability

The responsible and economical use of resources is our top priority. We therefore aim to make an active contribution to environmental protection. In order to meet this objective, we introduced an environmental management system in 2023. We have been continuously implementing measures to achieve our energy-saving targets since the introduction of our certified energy management system in 2012. Based on our carbon footprint, we are pursuing further steps to reduce CO₂ as part of our environmental management system.

Economic sustainability

Doing business in a sustainable way means ensuring the long-term success of our company by using innovative technologies while maintaining consistently high quality. When purchasing products and services, we consider the environmental impact and strive for continuous improvement of our environmental performance. When selecting suppliers, we emphasise the importance of their compliance with environmental standards. This also enables us to consistently pursue our environmental and sustainability goals.

Social sustainability

As an independent, owner-managed private company, we are aware of the responsibility we bear for our customers, our fellow human beings and future generations. Our social commitment is therefore aligned accordingly. As part of the training and continuing professional development of our employees, we are committed to promoting sustainable behaviour and encouraging our employees to act in an environmentally conscious and sustainable manner.

EMAS – our environmental
management system

In order to achieve our sustainability and environmental goals, we have established a management system in accordance with the requirements of EMAS and ISO 14001. This involves having the company audited and certified by an independent environmental audit organisation.
This management system helps us to further systematise our continuous improvement efforts. EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), also known as the EU Eco-Audit, was developed by the European Union for organisations seeking to improve their environmental performance. EMAS enables us to save resources in an intelligent manner, make an effective contribution to environmental protection and demonstrate social responsibility.
